organizations industry impacts the type of survey sources to utilize, the do’s
and don’ts, & how technology can impact the work. This practical presentation provides

-10:45 am: Compensation Trends in the Pacific
Northwest – Matthew
Lopez, Associate Director; Radford, an Aon Hewitt Company. A core objective for
your company is to attract, motivate and retain top talent. The challenge is in
figuring out how to meet that objective when your competitors are doing the
same thing. In this presentation, Matt Lopez of Radford reviews current data
showing the hiring environment in the Pacific Northwest and discusses how this critical
information can help you make important decisions for your compensation
programs going forward. Topics discussed
will include:
· Projected merit
budgets
· Equity program
participation rates
· Equity mix by
level.
· Short-term
incentive targets by level
·
Equity
targets by level
10:45 am: Break
11:00 am -12:00 pm: The
Truth about Wellness Programs – Tanya
Barham, CEO; Recess Wellness. Over 60% of American employers
claim to have wellness programs. The federally funded National Worksite
Survey contacted a random sampling of employers and found that only 7% of those
were comprehensive. Plenty of studies show that wellness is capable of
delivering return on investment, but 93% of wellness programs are not living up
to that capability.
- Why,
when quality products and services proliferate, do so many employers fail
to gain traction?
- What
is required to do wellness effectively and still provide the core work
product that every company must produce?
Tanya
will debunk the myth that incentives are the only way to increase program
participation. This seminar will not only review what is wrong with the
structure of current wellness offerings from the employer’s viewpoint, but will
also offer perspective on what is necessary for workplace wellness teams to
effectively gain greater traction within existing resources. For some it
will give a clear eyed view of the rigor necessary to implement an effective
wellness program and for others it will offer perspective on a more efficient
means to carry out their current program.
